Lioness Arising Recap Session 4

Strength is for Service

"Finally one of the lionesses decided to go for it. Her hunger won out over her hesitation. She boldly crossed the line and approached the slain buck. At the halfway point she glanced back to her sister, as though inviting her to join her on the other side of the fence." (pg78 of the book)

Hunger overcomes hesitation, your overwhelming hunger causes you to action.

Have we been hesitating to jump over the threshold?

God is saying I need you to stop hesitating!

As you jump over the threshold look back to those who are behind you. Marking the path of where you are going.

Let those who are following learn from our mistakes.

You don't serve anyone if you are acting afraid.

Romans 15:1-2
Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service , not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, "How can I help?"

The Holy Spirit will prompt us in how we should serve.
We should also be willing to ask the question, "How can I help?" Not just assume that we know what they need.

Strength is for service not for status!!

You cannot please everyone, so obey God!

Speak up when God has put the message in your heart with out hesitation.
Never apologize for functioning in obedience to God.

Psalms 34:4-5
I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.
He freed me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

Hesitancy=Shadow of shame

Do not allow the spirit of religion to get in!!!

Matthew 23:4-7
"Instead of giving you God’s Law as food and drink by which you can banquet on God, they package it in bundles of rules, loading you down like pack animals. They seem to take pleasure in watching you stagger under these loads, and wouldn’t think of lifting a finger to help. Their lives are perpetual fashion shows, embroidered prayer shawls one day and flowery prayers the next. They love to sit at the head table at church dinners, basking in the most prominent positions, preening in the radiance of public flattery, receiving honorary degrees, and getting called ‘Doctor’ and ‘Reverend.’"

Religion will load you down with rules, make you stagger and cause you to not even be able to help others.

Lets not complicate what is intended to be a simple life.

We as women love to serve and lift up others!

Ezekiel 19:2
"What is your mother? A lioness among lions!"

Lets get behind other women and ask them, "What is your dream?"
Serve others by giving them hope!!!

Joseph interpreted others dreams for years before seeing his own come to pass.
Are we willing to take the time to serve others before ourselves?

God is never finished with us. We will consistently grow by serving!!

Surround yourselves with people that can see your potential and who are willing to honestly bring up issues with the purpose to see that potential to come out!!!

We want to serve so well that we are beyond reproach!!!

Taking less now for ourselves doesn't mean we will have less in the future!
Lets build a LONG LASTING future!!! Going for the blessings beyond the demand for more now!

Lets remember that we serve our husbands and train our children, NOT train our husbands and serve our children!!!!!

2Corinthians 6:11-13
"Dear, dear Corinthians, I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way. I’m speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!"

Lets not live small!!
We need to open up our lives to others generously!!!

What purpose is larger within you that is intended to come out!!???
Everyday of our lives can expand to include more people!!
